We are a community of learners consisting of educators, students and parents/guardians. Working together we can create optimum learning for our children. This blog is a way for us to communicate and support the school - home connection. I'm passionate about teaching and learning. I strive to ignite an enthusiasm for learning that will last a lifetime in all my students!

Mrs. MacArthur read Have You Filled a Bucket Today? , by Carol McCloud. She then explained how 'bucket slips' work at GMS. Students earn bucket slips when caught filling other people's buckets/hearts by being kind, helpful and respectful. Each classroom has a bucket for students to place earned slips. Once a month Mrs. MacArthur will draw 25 bucket slips during our school assembly. Each name drawn will choose a prize from the prize box. Students can also earn an all-school celebration based on the number of bucket slips earned collectively. All-school celebrations may be a crazy hat day, extra recess, pajama day or other fun event.
