Delicious Buckeyes

At the end of our December mystery Skype with students in Toledo, Ohio, we had time to ask questions which led to a question about state desserts. Students at the Rosa Parks Elementary school had never heard of whoopie pies and we'd never heard of their favorite sweet, buckeyes.  So we agreed to send the desserts to each other. Today we received a box filled with chocolate peanut butter balls which looked just like the buckeyes we cracked open this fall. They were delicious!  A big thank you to our friends in Ohio!

  19. Dear Class,
I really liked them too! It was neat that we saw what real buckeyes looked like this fall. It made getting this special treat more special. I put the extras in the teacher's room and they were gone before lunch!
